    VIRTUAL PASSING THE BASKET

    Dear Parishioners,

This global pandemic caused by COVID-19 has turned the world up-side down, more than anything in most of our lifetimes.  We are all trying to deal with this uncertainty and how we can stay safe day to day.  We are asked to “social distance”, wash our hands more often, cough in our sleeves, and above all stay home and away from everyone, even if you do not feel sick or have a fever.
Amongst all this uncertainty we have to remember that we do have one constant in our lives – God, our Lord Jesus Christ, our mother Mary and all the Saints.  Normally, to help us cope with any problem and stay closer to God, we have the Mass and prayer.
Lent is a time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.  Because of the pandemic, we are being made to fast from the Mass and receiving our Lord.  But we also need to remember almsgiving by continually supporting our parish financially.
Just because there is no Mass and no collection basket passing by us, your contributions are still needed.  The parish expenses continue, even during this state of emergency and your support is crucially important.
Therefore, we are virtually “Passing the Basket” by asking you to remember to continue to support the parish with your weekly donations.  You can still send your contribution to the office or leave in the basket when you visit church for private prayer.  Also, please consider electronic giving by signing up for Faith Direct on the OLM Website or directly at Faith Direct.  To those who already are using Faith Direct, thank you for your continuing gift. It is very much appreciated.
Currently, there is no government bailout coming for our churches and the only source of income is your support.  So, please remember the parish with prayers and financial giving to help it also navigate its way through these troubling times.

    With prayer,
Finance Committee of OLM Church and Fr. Marcin

    ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.

PRAYER OF POPE FRANCIS FOR PROTECTION AND HELP

O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You…know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of those of us who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
