The Grade-School Religious Education Program provides religious instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 on a weekly basis on from September through April. These classes are held on Sunday mornings In the Parish Center at Our Lady of the Mountain Church. There are three sessions: Session A takes place from 8:00-9:00AM, Session B takes place from 9:30-10:30AM and Session C takes place from 11:00AM-12:00PM. (Preference of a session time is given on a first-come, first-serve basis.)
In the K-6 Program, there are approximately 28 sessions each year. Grades 7 and 8 meet on alternating Monday evenings from 6:00PM to 7:00PM from September to April. Students in Grades 7 and 8 are required to attend all Teen Masses which are held on the First Sunday of each month, October - March, at the 5:00PM Mass. There are approximately 20 sessions each for grades 7 and 8. Schedules for grades K-6, 7 and 8 can be downloaded by clicking on the appropriate link below.
Parents may register their children by clicking the registration link below. A child entering the Kindergarten program must be 5 years of age by October 1st of the current school year. A certificate of Baptism must be provided at the time of registration if the Sacrament was received in a parish other than OLM. When registering older children, proof of prior religious education and Sacramental history must be provided at the time of registration. Re-registrations will not be accepted after October 1st. Students are required to complete one year of religious instruction before entering the Sacramental preparation of First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist in Grade 2.
Our classes in religious education offer instruction in doctrine, scripture, morality and the experience of prayer. However, the family is the primary setting in which faith is shared and nurtured. Parental faith sharing is the foundation of OLM's Religious Education Program. The staff at OLM depends on parents to discuss weekly lessons with their children at home, to pray with their children and to bring their children to Mass each week. Mass attendance along with religious education classes comprise a complete religious education;
INCLEMENT WEATHER: Notification of class cancellations will be sent by email and by OLM's automated telephone service. Please DO NOT call the Parish Office.
